CONCEPT
The task of the “Types of Type” campaign was to select three typefaces from different periods of history. Then, use writing pieces from the same periods to create a series that expresses each typeface’s distinct visual qualities. I chose Bookman, Rockwell, and Avenir.
PROCESS
The poetry determined the color, the typeface determined the letter, and the letterform determined the flow of the stanza. Key words of each poem were highlighted to emphasize the subject matter and to tie together the concept of the series.
